This is a print showing the system of scalp acupuncture taught in Chinese medicine masters programs in the United States. This system is based on principles of Chinese medicine, but in fact is a modern system developed in the 1950's. This system of Scalp Acupuncture is best known for treating pain conditions and neurological issues like neuropathy, speech or visual impairment and vertigo.

All main areas of this scalp acupuncture system are represented visually, with some additional point location tips (boney landmarks, etc). I've additionally listed some of the key conditions treated with each area. Some of them are obvious (Stomach area treats the abdomen, LV/GB area treats liver and gallbladder issues) but for things like the various Speech areas it can be hard to remember which is best for what so I personally have found these reminders to be very helpful. A great resopurce tool for anyone seeing a lot of stubborn pain or neurologic conditions in their clinic, especially if they are treating people who are non-ambulatory and have trouble getting on a treatment table and prefer to be treated sitting up in a chair.
