This is a digital download for an 11" x 17" print describing the use of CUPPING in Traditional East Asian Medicine, and shows what "sha" (the red petechia that happen in areas of tension when cupping is performed for pain) looks like on the 6 skin types of the Fitzpatrick scale.
Cupping has been an important healing modality within Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) for millennia. In TEAM theory, pain occurs as the result of stagnation or imbalance in the body. Therapies such as cupping are used to promote movement of qi and blood, breaking up stagnation in the fascia and superficial layers of muscle. Relief is often immediate, and continues to improve over the course of a few days.
This 11" x 17" print is not an instructional piece. It is meant to be used a reference tool by trained practitioners in a clinical setting.
I recommend putting this file on a thumb drive and taking to your local copy shop for a color print on card stock. There is .5” of space all around to allow for a matte or frame if you like.
